CLICK HERE if you really desire to start running the right way. You could compete in the next Marathon!
Its that time of the year again! The NYC marathon time. This year has been great for running and even a Chilean Mine rescuer even Edison Pena taking to the streets of New york.
But the winner of the NYC marathon is none other than Gebremariam, Kiplagat. Oh, by the way he is also married to a long distance runner. Now his family won't have problem covering long distances!
Haile Gebrselassie dropped out at the 16th mile. Reports say he had an MRI on his leg and with age getting better of him, it is left to see if he can continue winning Marathons!
So this year winners have all been surprise winners! Kenya's Edna Kiplagat was another surprise winner, while Shalane Flanagan, making a marathon debut of her own, became the first American woman in two decades to finish second.
David Weir and Tatyana McFadden Win the Wheeler Titles
Masazumi Soejima finished second and reigning (and 4 time champ) Kurt Fearnley finished third among the men. Christina Ripp and Amanda McGrory finished second and third among the women.
Though the clear star was Shalane Flanagan of the United States who was second in the women's race in her marathon debut. The 2008 Olympic bronze medalist in the 10,000 meters became the first American woman to finish in the top two since 1990.
